Position Title: Finance Intern
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Accounts Head
Location: As per project / Head Office
Internship Duration: 3–6 Months (extendable based on performance)
Role Summary
The Finance Intern will support the Finance and Accounts team in day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and documentation activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate finance operations, statutory compliance, and internal controls within an engineering/project-based organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Assist in recording day-to-day financial transactions in accounting systems (Tally / ERP / Excel).
Support preparation and verification of vouchers, journal entries, and ledger postings.
Assist in bank entries, cash book maintenance, and reconciliation activities.
Banking & Reconciliation
Support bank reconciliation statements (BRS).
Track incoming and outgoing payments.
Assist in maintaining bank-related documentation.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Assist in processing vendor invoices and ensuring timely payments.
Support tracking of outstanding receivables and follow-up with internal teams.
Help in maintaining vendor and customer account records.
Statutory Compliance Support
Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
Support documentation related to TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and LWF.
Maintain compliance trackers and statutory filing records.
Expense & Project Costing Support
Assist in verification of employee expense claims and supporting documents.
Support project-related expense tracking and cost allocation.
Help in maintaining proper documentation for audits and internal reviews.
MIS & Reporting
Assist in preparation of MIS reports, financial summaries, and dashboards.
Support data collection for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Maintain Excel sheets for financial analysis and tracking.
Audit & Documentation
Assist during internal and statutory audits by providing required documents.
Support maintenance of financial records, invoices, and compliance files.
Ensure proper filing (physical and digital) of finance-related documents.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred).
Familiarity with Tally / ERP systems is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of GST and taxation is a plus.
Behavioral Skills

Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Educational Qualifications
Pursuing or completed B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) / MBA (Finance)
CA / CMA / CS (Inter / Pursuing) candidates will be preferred.
